Old Photo's Re-Newed

Ok that time again, this time Crete. The first 3 days RAIN,WIND & COLD.  After that the sun did come out and it got hot.

We stayed at the Andreas apartments in Gouves. It was very nice but not much to do. 

Night life was poor to say the least.  You had to go into the town for any type off live music, yes their where hotels around but most of there guess went out at night because in there words "the entertainment was CRAP". We where told by the locals that most off the beach front entertainment where told to move as they where breaking the law by being their.

We have been going to Greek islands for sometime now and this time it was Very dear, a lot of the prices looked to me if they just though of a number, doubled it and add a % on to it. A litre of voda, at home can be around £12 to £19 there it was £25.

So this is a short one, A nice place but very quite.

Hi all, ok just back from holiday. We tried Cyprus this time. Where to start ,:ohmy: well we stayed at a little hotel called Mimosa Beach just outside Protaras (about 30mins walk). The hotel was quite, clean and at this time of the year not to busy.

So a bit about the hotel well it was very clean (cleaned every day) but needed a bit of work on door (at the bottom) and just general small fixes. But over all a very nice hotel.:)

Entertainment:

 All daytime entertainment is down to you, they have a pool table, tennis court (which you can hire rackets and balls for) to say very little would be more to the point when talking about day time entertainment. Ok night time entertainment, there was 5 nights entertainment over the 7 nights there, BUT the only one worth talking about would have the Blues night. There was one guy doing the blues brother act, (yea we thought that too) and he was very good which was very surprising, the other nights were Bingo, Quiz night (should have been call master mind), greek night (not go into that one) and o'h yes the disco and karaoke, well we went for a look. The owners had a boules competition running that day in which most off the hotel was taken over by them, so the night off the disco Angela and me left, as the boules people took over and where very rude, so we just went back to the pool bar. On that night the owners did not have enough staff on and closed the pool bar early without a thought given to the people who were still using it.

The hotel staff the next day kept apologizing about what had happened, but not once did the owners say or do anything. To me the owners only wanted to make money and did not care about the guest which is sad as most put there guest first that way they keep coming back.

My main faults from them are as follows.

1/ Caring  for money not GUEST.

2/ Making to many mistakes eg: when behind the bar charging different prices each time.

3/ Only speaking to guest that they deemed worthy.

But in saying that the staff went out of there way to help.

Ok as you can see by the photos that this place is lovely and there is a lot to do in Protaras, Fig Tree Bay is to die for  and most off the bar/restaurants are themed. It can be dear but if you shop round you can still save money.

By reading this you might say that this was a bad holiday, but to be honest it was not. Small things like that can put you off going their again but still enjoy your holiday.

I would score this as follows:

Cleanliness: 10  >> Location: 8 >> Staff: 10 >> Entertainment: (day) 2 >> Entertainment: (night) 4 >>

Food: 8 >> Owners: 2

So over all I would say this holiday would rate 5/10 for me.

In case you wandering why I have not said anything about the rep: well we seen him once and that was at the greeting. Not once did we see him around the pool, talking to other guest or just about. 1/10  

Some day we might go back to Cyprus but not to Mimosa beach hotel

Ok i'm back from holiday it was great.

We where at Salou the weather was around the 28/30 mark.

We stayed at the Salauris Palace hotel which was a 4 star hotel. We normaly stay 3 star and to be honest I could not see much of a difference. It was still a lovely place to stay.

I have left photos for all to look at. Adam the rep was good and done his job well, but had no sense of time. If you go their and he tell you that it takes 10 mins to get somewhere, please add on another 15 mins. We went to one of the shows. It was called "Decades" we thought it was going to be like a disco with music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's upto to 2000", but boy where we wrong it was a live show and YES it was great.

We also went to the House of Illusion (Adam will tell you it is 10 mins away -- it's not it's 25 mins away),

this too turned into a great night. Please feel free to have a look at the photos.

Port-Aventure theme park was very good but it is pouplar and is very busy so two or three days here is possible so you can see everything not forgetting some of the shows only start after 5pm.

The hotel had entertainment every night but they had people from every walk of life so it would be fair to say that they done a great job even low the entertainment was not too our taste everynight. Out of the 7 nights I would say 2 nights was not to our taste.

Titanic bar i'm sorry to say it was not to our taste at all, the night we went to it they where having problems with the music, another couple who stayed at the hotel told me that there had been problems two night earler, so like the great ship to me the Titanic sunk.

Over all I would give this Holiday a 9.5 out of 10
